Onward Health provides occupational therapy services for individuals funded by the Traffic Accident Commission (TAC) following motor vehicle accidents. We deliver structured assessment, rehabilitation and documentation aligned with insurer requirements.

How We Can Support You

Assistive Technology & Equipment Prescription

We assess and prescribe assistive technology to improve safety, access and independence. This may include:

  • Manual and powered wheelchairs

  • Seating and positioning systems

  • Bathroom and toileting equipment

  • Transfer equipment

  • Upper limb supports

  • Pressure care equipment

All recommendations are aligned with TAC funding guidelines and supported by trial data where required.

Carer Education & Support

We work with family members and informal carers to provide practical strategies that reduce strain and promote safe support within the home.

Home Modifications

We assess and recommend minor and complex home modifications to improve accessibility and safety within the home.

This may include:

  • Grab rails and ramps

  • Bathroom accessibility changes

  • Structural modifications for wheelchair access

Reports include functional justification, risk analysis and collaboration with relevant stakeholders to support funding approval.

      Rehabilitation & Capacity Building Therapy

We provide targeted intervention to improve:

  • Daily living skills

  • Upper limb function

  • Cognitive performance

  • Community participation

  • Routine and organisational skills

  • Fatigue management

Therapy is goal-oriented and measurable, with regular review to ensure progress.

Functional Assessments

We complete detailed, evidence-based assessments including:

  • Activities of Daily Living (ADL) assessments

  • Home and environmental assessments

  • Return to work functional evaluations

  • Cognitive and executive function screening

  • Risk and safety assessments

All reports are structured to meet TAC requirements and include clear clinical reasoning, objective outcome measures, and cost-justified recommendations.

We work with individuals experiencing:

  • Acquired Brain Injury

  • Traumatic Brain Injury

  • Orthopaedic injuries

  • Spinal injuries

  • Chronic pain

  • Post-surgical limitations

  • Cognitive impairment following trauma
